He is one of the Techno guys that I am positive you will like. I won't argue semantics really as it is pointless, as there is a case to be made on both sides. Some dudes call live sets anything done with Ableton.
Speedy J did the best one I've ever seen. A Guy Called Gerald is second. Close 3rd would be Narod Niki ( Ritchie Hawtin, Dimbiman (Thomas Franzmann aka Perlon boss Zip), Ricardo Villalobos, Monolake, Akufen, Dandy Jack, Daniel Bell, Cabanne and Luciano) at Mutek in 2003. It wasn't close musically to the other 2, but having so many crackheads with so much gear going ape in sync was something special.
That set is easily available on the internet.
Robert Babicz is also great at this. Can't forget Monolake by himself. Henke takes live sets, display and audio conception to the next level. It ain't shake your rump stuff though |
