do i understand that this means that everyone should leave poor, naive americans alone? (i'm not targeting anyone here)
think about that quote when the US goes and bombs the hell out of iraq. but they have to! you understand, because their the only country in the world that should be able to have 'weapons of mass destruction'.. yyyyyeah.:rolleyes: |

Yes it is strangely ironic that we often view war as the only means to attaining peace.
I think war is a necessary evil in certain circumstances, in that it can eliminate a far greater evil, though I'm struggling to think of many wars since WW2 (including this "pre-emptive" war on Iraq) that fulfill this criteria and, thus, can be in any way justified, from the perspective of either side fighting the war.
Just thinking aloud though..... |

Just think of the fact that all the wars we have had since WW2, had not been WW3 and perhaps had saved us from that far greater fate of WW3, which is of the greater good for all. I hope that perhaps, Iraq will be of the same insignificance to you. |

i like the quote. :) however. i think that is blaringly obvious that the US wants to control the oil reserves in iraq and the only way that they can achieve such control is by detroying iraq and dividing its people, in which they can bring in a democratic and puppetary goverment like that in afghanistan. thus no real peace will be achieved, only America passified that another 'worldly threat' has been abolished. i think that the US would find they had a lot less problems if they kept their nose out of everyone else's business. i see them something akin to the biggest kid in the sandbox that just likes to build bigger castles and kick everyone else's sand out. but that's just a cynical canadian standpoint.:rolleyes:
and yes, inatrance, it would appear that bse is back. at least for the moment. ;) |

if we had a WW3 there would be lots more losses as 2 days weopons are of mass distruction. I think there will be a WW3 in the future :sadgreen: |

i wonder if, perhaps, you are insinuating that the war on iraq will be a 'significant' war in the history of our world in which WWIII will be averted, because 'HOLY CRAP! we can't trust those middle easterners! they might attack us, because we're always screwing them over and bossing them around!' i wonder if, perhaps, it will just be another one of those 'american projects' to get everything for themselves, no matter the cost to another country. oh and hey, why not get rid of their goverment while we're at, we can turn Saddam's house into a McDonald's!..oh wait.. those silly guys don't eat cows over there! jeez. |
