DJing a high school party

Yeah, that's right. Underage drinkers, drugs, keg... but I don't know what to play. I want to drop some legit house on them because they probably haven't ever heard it. Maceoplex, like that. If that puts them to sleep I will bust out the high energy tech house stuff.

Last time we had like 150 people and the dance floor was packed. That time I wasn't playing music, I was helping my friend make sure his house didn't get destroyed. I think he was playing trap and hiphop that time. If I get any requests I will pretend not to speak english.

God I remember doing this. Whatever happens make sure you've got some hip-hop at the ready

I remember people coming up and actually saying "I can't dance to this". Really you can't dance to dance music? Sounds like a personal problem. Anyway what they really meant is "I can't slut-out to this" so keep that in mind

Alright lets get this party started!

Top 40 and take requests until everyone is drunk enough that no one cares what you are playing. Unless specifically asked for electronic music, they probably just want a flesh jukebox. If they pay give them what they want. Also: cash up front.

Yeah pretty much... turns out it's my friend's birthday so I'm gonna go do that instead. Will probably play some for these punk kids one night.

why are you wasting your time.

play what you know it works, hip hop, rnb, top 40 , dance classics and towards the end hwn everyone is ed up and rolling then you can play 2-3 tech house records that surely would have a warm welcome.

Djing for kids is something i promised myself i'd never do again, mainly because you go with the idea that you "might have to play commercial edm" when in fact they expect that you will just play a little of edm.

When i did this i was 18 and i played for 16 aged kids. I spent the last part of the night playing trance classics for the delight of the few edm heads that worshiped me while 90% of the people glared at me and girls were almost crying while his boyfriends treathened me to play the spanish pop hit they girls wanted.

Priceless. I only had a few commercial tracks and house/trance no rnb, pop, hip hop... grab some don't be as amateur as i was.

That kind of gig is still good experience and you can have gas money for 3 days. When i was young that was a big concept especially in Japan.

He is in his mid 20s

By the sounds of it, they are running an underage party circuit. So very lame on so many levels. And the second police catch winds you are throwing parties for kids, expect your day in court. This is a business venture a 16 year old woukd think off.
