Personally I find headphones to be quite pleasing, it definitely helps me hear more of the song that I didn't notice before. It's the perfect tool if you don't wanna make noise around you.
But I've only been to a few live experiences that played Trance, and I gotta save, live dance floor is so much more epic. especially with the lights in synchronization, strobe lights, lasers, people, environment, amplified speakers, heavy bass, it's the full package.
I do recall Armin saying that Trance is better listening in headphones though. what do you guys think? |

| I'm not much for trance in clubs anymore. That said, I do enjoy listening to really well-produced trance on my headphones at times. |

| The last time I heard trance in a club was like 2008. The speakers were so ing loud. There were literally strangers handing out ear plugs in the crowded dance floor. I liked it at the time. House music tends to have greater dynamic range than trance, so I always prefer to listen to it. Anyway, when I want to "hear" something I use headphones. When I want to "listen" speakers or a PA are nice. It just depends. Speakers are great for when you are listening with other people and obviously are better than headphones for that purpose. When it comes down to hearing fine details of the track, headphones all the way. But good ones. $100+ a pair, at least. And no Beats by Dre. Actual headphones. |
