Luke Hess (DeepLabs, Planet E, FXHE)
Born in 1980 and raised in the Detroit area, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood.
In 2003 he recorded his first promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith based music production has landed him a seat with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit. His debut album was released in early May 2009 by Denmark based label Echocord.
In 2010 he began his own interpretation of Detroit techno with his new Detroit project and record label - DeepLabs. His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor.
With 13 years of DJ experience, he is regarded as a perfectionist in his LIVE sets and behind the decks layering his tracks in a very detailed and hypnotic manner. Luke has played at notable venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Berghain (Berlin), Unit (Tokyo), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Sirup (Zagreb), Weekend Club (Berlin), Cubic Club (Madrid), Space (Ibiza), and The Bunker (NYC). Luke’s continued hard work behind the decks and in the studio combined with his unyielding interest in technology and sound will no doubt stimulate the boundaries of electronic music.
Toronto-based Greg Gow is one of Canada’s leading Techno electronic dance music artists. His international stature is well established and growing rapidly – as a DJ, producer, promoter and label manager.
Currently Greg holds down DJ residencies at some of Toronto’s leading electronic dance music destinations, including Footwork, and Guvernment. As well, he is an ambassador for Canadian electronic music around the world, with recent DJ performances in Japan, Germany, Italy, Holland, Mexico and South America. In the USA Greg has also made appearances in Miami, Detroit, New York, Chicago and San Diego.
In the studio Greg combines analogue and digital equipment to compose banging yet soulful Detroit style Techno. Many of his prominent releases have been on Restructured, a highly respected international record label, which Greg founded and continues to build. Restructured highlights a wide variety of premier artists from around the globe.
In late 2009 Greg had his first of two releases, The Pilgrimage, an EP re-launch, for Transmat, the world-famous label of Detroit's Derrick May, one of the Godfathers of Techno. The second Transmat release in 2011 features Twilight Soul. Both have been highly acclaimed.
Increasingly Greg’s creative focus has been on crafting remixes and original compositions for a number of innovative small and medium sized international labels including: Bulletdodge (UK), Etishetta Nera (Italy), Jeton (Turkey), and Movement Sound Recordings (Italy). Future such collaborations will soon appear on ArtForm (UK), Alma Soul Music (Spain), Abstract Theory (Italy) and KMS (USA).
George Rimore, originally from Sudbury, Ontario, started DJing in his teens. With his courage to delve into a variety of genres, and his relentlessness to search for the best way to get dancefloors intently grooving, Rimore has transcended many musical norms. Since his relocation to Toronto, his DJ career has flourished.
You may have seen Rimore play at venues in Toronto include Augusta House, Bunda Lounge, TOTA, and Our House, with most recent bookings at Jun Jun Bar and the afterhours dungeon simply referred to as Rainbow Palace. Notably, in the summer of 2012, Rimore snagged a coveted booking at the notorious Belgian festival, Tomorrowland. His sets always take the listener on a journey; whether it be through the clouds, down a dark tunnel or through space.
