i didn't even bother checking the requirements. I mean it just seemed insane for audio pros not to make it 10.6 +. Nobody in any studio is running anything later. |

I think they were lazy and thinkg that now we're on a late revision of 10.7 (with a new major step (10.8) revision coming within the next year) what's the point programming for 10.6.
ing dumb as I don't know any studios that have made the jump to 10.7 yet. |

Just out of curiosity. Is there any reason why an audio professional wouldn't want to upgrade to mountain lion? Or is it just the same old "can not/don't want to make time" issue? |

0 gains , only issus. There I 0 reason to upgrade. |

As Richie said, there's no advantages of Lion over Leopard in terms of the very specific use of macs in studios; (usually just stable hosts for protools or logic).
I think by now most of the drivers have been updated by all the manufacturers but there's really no benefit to switching; it's doesn't offer improvement in processing or memory handling etc. You basically spend a couple of days reinstalling everything for no perceivable upgrade, only the chance of some conflicts. |
