A State Of Trance 2004 probably one of the greatest compilations of all time...OF ALL TIME!

Second disc was good. The first... not so much.

of all the biggies, i never really liked armin at all.

burned with desire rising star mix was awesome, that's about it.

think i found his tracklists too poofy.

ASOT doesn't come close to the ferry corsten trance nations.

THE BOSS.

First time I ever caught him was at one of Gatecrasher's Birthday parties back in 2002 ... played a blinding 4hr set then finished with 'Communication'

There was a time in the early 2000's where I was crazy about him - he'd actually play a lot of deep prog, mix in a few classics, along with your typical trance of the era. He'd play these epic multi-hour sets. Now it seems every time I see him since about 2006, he'll play the same safe, predictable stuff (including another mashup of "In And Out Of Love") and has totally lost the adventurous spirit he used to have.

His numerical ASOT series (1,2,3,4) were pretty good as far as mixcomps go. When he started to do the yearly ones, then the quality started to decline... ASOT2007 really soured me on trance as a whole, that I only really recovered from the past year or two (though I still prefer house of course).

btw, i preffer the asot 2003 than 2004

when he plays Markus Schulz - Largo i got goosebumps! everytime!

i still listen a lot to this track. Genius, this is really hypnotic.

However i have always preferred Tiësto as a dj and Ferry Corsten as a producer, Ferry made good uplifting and when he changed his style around the years he released his L.E.F album he created such an atmospheres....

It's very sad that there's no turning back. I think he played a classic set on ASOT 550 but was full of overused ones such as Airwave which is not really what i'd like to here as a classic set.

Another guy that used to be so good is PvD now pretends to be legit, isn't anymore, hypocrite...

Back then top djs were legit, sure there were more talented guys unrecognized but being on the top 100 meant something
