Hot Mixer

Just bought a djm-600 last week, and I've noticed that it gets quite hot once it's been on for a while. I was wondering if anyone else who has one has this happen to their's.
Is this normal? Should i be worried? Have i really been sold a Bluedog with a fake pioneer sticker on it? |

Heya..
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your mixer :toocool:
I have a DJM500, and so does a friend of me and they both get quite hot after being powered on even for pretty short periods (1.5-2 hours, sometimes even less).
Just ignore it, and enjoy your new mixer! :gsmile: |

| Yes, it is perfectly normal for mixers to get hot. They are really nothing more than a big resistor and in order to kill the sounds, you have to stop the electricity, hence the generation of heat. Just make sure that you keep it well ventilated so that it doesn't overheat! Some times it can even get too hot to touch for long, but don't worry, you're not quite on the brink of overheating. I wouldn't use the mixer to that point unless I had too though. |

I have a vestax mixer and the power supply is outside the mixer...
so its made of 2 parts.... "the mixer" and the "power supply"
only the power supply heats enough to feel it...
is your mixer made of 2 parts like mine ? or is the power supply is inside of the mixer ? |

i think its the headphones too :D
i left my mixer overnight before and it was damn hot, oops. same with my cdj
my amplifyer gets really hot too, same with computer and monitor.
no biggie :p its good for the winters, not for summers. |
