Anyone every done this before? Specifically from Canada To South Korea by sea with a count of 500 Vinyl.
If anyone has any similar experience either by sea/air or other destination. Let me know. |

a record weighs between 140 and 220 grams, so lets go with 180.
500 records would weigh approx 90 kilos (more if you ship them in a travel case which you should to avoid screwing them up).
an estimate i got from purolator.
Base Cost $1,837.65
Declared Value Surcharge $130.50
Multipiece $165.39
Fuel Surcharge $248.08
$2,381.62
that is in canadian dollars.
It cost me about 800$ to fly the same amount of records with a baggage surcharge when i flew to China. If you are moving to Seoul, i would suggest to try this. It's cheaper if you fly business class and have an account with the airline. If you booked your flight through a discount site, you will be raped.
The quote is for express shipping though, you could probably more than half it by doing it the slow way (by boat) but you will wait 2 months for it. |

| check with the post office you can sometimes ship postal bags. |

| Canada post are rip off artists. They are more expensive than the big guys...i know, i checked. They also have ridiculous weight surcharges, because Gov employees are lazy. |
