Sounds card to mix using my PC?

| I'm looking to get a sound card to be able to mix using just my PC and some connected hardware. I'm assuming there's no way to get Traktor to output to my speakers while also cueing via headphones? I think 2 sound cards is what I need, and I'm kind of clueless as to how I should go about this. |

| Totally depends on what constitutes as "some connected hardware". |

Most on board sound can do at-least 4 channels. if you can set it to do 4 channel surround and then plug the headphones into the rear that should work. Just set the routing in traktor so it knows the headphones are the rear speakers, or whatever works.
In my experience having a soundcard complicates things and causes more problems than its worth, unless you really need 1ms response or something :P Having 2 enabled might be really problematic |

Well i have another answer for you since I just had to figure out how to do this. Realtek is the most commen on-board sound, thats what myn is. So go to there site and get somethin like realtek hd drivers, (this is to get the application)(you should have a new speaker icon). Install that and plug in headphones to black, it should ask you what you want it to be, say rear and set sound to quadraphonic (4 speakers) with the application. Than set that up in traktor with asio v2.
sorry i cant type right, but I thought I'd try and get that across.
That kinda sucks using onboard sound because of low power outputs for headphones and bad latency so I have a similar question, that might not get answered, but I love both of these cards.
which one of these is better? They can both be had for about $70

Now I'm hoping these have great latency like my 192kz x-fi card. I'd love that headphone amp also.
For some reason with asio v2 I can only get about 17ms response with onboard and only up to 44kz even tho it can do 192. and with my platinum x-fi I could do 1.7ms with 192kz and a little high than 320kbps.
1ms would be perfect if i could remember which card advertised that :/
anyways, hope you can get something out of that |
