Hello everyone,
So what are the clubs like during the BPM festival? I am very interested in the Blue Parrot as they have some of the Djs I really want to see. Anyone know of it, and is it fun, on the beach, in-door, expensive drinks, tables available?
This will be my first trip to the BPM festival and any and all tips would be awesome. I wish someone would make a survival guide. (hehe) -note: coming from a girl perspective.
Ive been to Mexico before but I have not stayed somewhere for this long. Anything helps. Thanks in advance! XO :D |

Was there last year for BPM.
Blue Parrot is on the beach, however closed off. There is sand at the back of the club.
Drink prices are average. And shots are measured :(
There are tables on the side, however you won't really be able to see the DJ from the side.
Place stays open til really late....past sunrise...(I think Danny Tenaglia played til 4pm New Years Day!)
Guess it just depends on who the DJ is.
Pink Elephant is indoor. Small w/ very expensive drinks. (good idea to drink beforehand down the street for 2 for 1 specials!
There are 2 venues where they hold their day venues and they are right next to each other.
Enjoy! |

| Coco Maya is my favorite club in Playa. It is right next to Blue Parrot and is in sand on the beach also fenced off. All open air. Much better then Blue Parrot in my opinion. Drink are reasonable. Bottle service is usually a good deal just be careful the try to screw you sometimes (charge you a load for mixers). Santanera is the smallest spot it has more of an underground feel in the inside. But also has an upstairs open air area. Bathroom situation is nice. |

Is this for every club? I emailed some places and they already said like $200 per bottle and 4 max. I almost laughed, but held it in. Didn't know they charged -that much. Im totally ok with a lot of pre-gaming. haha
Another important question: Did you guys turn in your cash for pesos or just use american dollar? I wasn't sure if I should do half my money in pesos...and the rest keep in regular dollar bills...?
Thanks again for the tips on the clubs, I really appreciate it. Im super excited either way; however I really want them to release the one day tickets. I must see Carl Cox :eyespop:

be careful with bottles/drinks at coco maya. there have been instances where it has been watered down or mixed with some other type of cheaper alcohol. I suppose they want you get drunk less fast and buy more.
Also be careful with your credit card there. Better to use cash.
Perhaps all this is in the past or at least they will be on their best behavior because it's BPM.
Overall, tourists (women included) are safe in Playa, but still good to be a little cautious anywhere you go. |

Bottle service varies per venue. Last year La Santanera was the most expensive.
Best thing to do with cash is pull pesos from the ATM once you get there. |
