What is the purpose of this for a studio, I have never seen this.

| Probably a dance studio. Possibly for sound isolation as well. |

| Definitely sound isolation. Seems a bit overkill for such a genre to me though. |

| Curious as to how they effect the isolation |

Yeah, I've seen stuff like this done in apartments in the city, like this one guy, god damn tram going outside his window every 5 minutes rattling the whole building. And he needed to record. So what do you do? You raise one of the rooms on shock absorbing springs. And it was like a tiiiny apartment. And the standard was that of the 60s. He must've put at least 100k (about 18k us) into that recording booth lol.
And yeah they're definitely doing something weird there.. There's just too many of'em! |

its quite obvious imo. they need a higher floor to avoid it being cold, the cold air goes underneath. dancers need to keep their feet warm. :p
its quite obvious what theyre doing isnt it? theyre building rooms inside the room. waste of money basically.
this is what happends when people get money too fast, they dont know what to do with it and waste it on stupid like this. that big room could be used as a rave instead!

or if they are really smart they are building a room inside of a room to throw a rave in
stereo nightclub in montreal is built on the same concept- full isolation, room inside of a room |

That's the only reason I could think of why you'd need to shockmount a whole room. There must be some serious vibrations happening in that floor, and if there are then surely there'd be better locations. |
