What Could Be More Desireable Than You (OMG DUBSTEP gross)

It's been a long time since I've posted a track here(or anywhere)

Here is a dubstep track I'm working on, IMO it's pretty good for now, nowhere near perfect nor completed, but it's at the stage I'm not ashamed to share publicly..

I don't even listen to dubstep so I have no idea how this compares to the pros, the wobble is probably nowhere near par.

IMO the track needs some improvements and some more variation and instruments, and the track will be made longer later, this one will get a couple of days worth of work more.

I am looking forward to any constructive criticism.

It's actually a very nice track to be fair. The only bit that needs bringing forward is the wub wub bass which is placed so far in the background that you hardly notice it at all.

I was actually expecting it at the drop and it never came.

This has potential and to be honest, I usually hate dubstep but this was nice.

Cheers

Yeah, I was somewhat aware of the wobble level problem, but I was trying to be careful because I don't trust my headphones much.

Thanks for pointing it out, will take care of it. :)

Yea I agree with everybody else; there seems to be gaps in the frequency range. Just a couple of observations:

The intro/strings are really cool and sound good
The first time the beat drops in is a bit loud and unsettling. You need some kind of build-up/riser/transition to signal that it's coming in
The wobble in terms of sound quality sounds alright, but it doesn't really fit into the mix and some of the frequencies that are standing out are questionable.
The big drop after the breakdown was better in terms of build-up and anticipation
The bass is too dirty/distorted to be going solo the whole track. It doesn't really gel well with the strings so I think it would help if you cut it up with some other bass-lines for variation.

Overall, like the concept! Hope this helps

When that first snare came in, it was jarring. Sort of remains that way. The drums are super smashed and compressed compared to the lull of the strings and piano in the background. That is a nice instrumentation and chord progression though. Would prefer this track without the wobbles. Not sensing any musical effectiveness that they add to it. Get some nice down tempo drums, not these cliche overly compressed dubstep drums. Not to be rude, but that's how they sound to me. I think it tries too hard to be a dubstep track when it could take on more of its own original character. Good concept.

Very good advice here, thanks TA! Will apply what's applicable. In the meantime I wish you all happy holidays :)
