As all of you are aware, on Friday America witnessed one of the most horrific events in its history.
Now, the worthless scum at the Westboro Baptist Church is protesting the funeral saying that "God sent the gunman" because of gay marriage/black people/yadda yadda... whatever psycho babble bull they always say. But this is crossing the line. There are mothers and fathers of innocent 6 and 7 year old children that now have to not only cope with a terrible loss, but deal with these s causing a horrific scene as they say their goodbyes to their loved ones. This is just absolutely disgusting.
The WBC protesting the Newtown massacre was apparently the final straw for many others as well. These people need to go. A petition has been started to legally recognize these terrible people as a hate group. The amount of signatures this petition is gaining is skyrocketing by the minute. Do your part and sign this if you believe in the cause.
Actually you are the reason these people exist.
You give them exposure, publicity and fame.
Stop talking about it and these attention seeking, bottom feeding whores will disappear.

I simply don't think this is the right attitude to have about people like this. But agree to disagree.
To elaborate further, when you talk about not "feeding the trolls" on the internet or ignoring bullies in a high school that's one thing, but these people are vocally protesting funerals of six year old children. that. . That. It makes me ing sick.

Its simple psychology actually. You can't just get rid of them, because they are protected under the constitution (like we all know this matters with the gov :rolleyes: ) and the law. Vets/soldiers have been trying for years and years to banish WBC. You simply cannot just get rid of them under the pretext of them being a "hate group" (which obviously they are).
If, but just if, people (also media) completely stopped giving a about them, their protests and their signs, they would eventually give up doing this crap.

i believe in the petition. i think the time of ignoring them its done for. they really are not going away. we need to shame them and shut them down. if people did not revolt then we would still have slavery. laws are not timeless. they need to adapt with humankind and its history. i dont think its the constitution that is keeping the government from shutting them down. i believe some actual lobbiest are interfering and preventing the government to do anything about it. If this petition blows up. they will show a concern from the public and that will overcome any obstacle from greasy lobbyist. One thing we know from the politicians is that they will do anything once they fear the public is not on their side.
I don't know the church agenda, nor do i care about it. Therefore i can't say if they are a organized hate group. But every time i see a protest on the media, there is nothing but hate messages justified with word GOD in the end. These loonies harassment have to go. I don't care if their "church" is kept or not. I hope they get banned form picking on funerals and other events. Since they are abusing their freedom of speech, punish them by having them to get a permit. let them obtain a permit next time they want to parade anywhere, even open public places. That way you can control where they will go. that way you can deny them a permit to harass a funeral. Only this way (well not considering a ban on the whole thing) they will be ignored. no media is going to cover a bunch of loonies gathered in a park and protesting to themselves.

this kid didnt go into school and shoot a bully who been picking on him for years or a teacher who sexually assualted him or anything along those lines.

Great video! i definitively agree that new media has shown many times if not all the times, the shooter as some kind of iconic. This only gives the message that they will give you massive attention if you do something terrible! But that is the media and we can't control that. they don't care about the news as much as they care about the viewers. This has gone on with ages and i don't think the answer lies in controlling the media.
I think they should make new laws to have a mentally ill register list. Same as they have for sex offenders. One thing i liked about my country it was that you can't sue/accuse someone for pointing out your mental illness. We all knew who our loonies where within a 30 km radius. So when some one scream watch out bob's gone "coo coo" we all knew what we were in for.
Here your co-worker might have some massive psychological info and you wouldn't know it. you have a feeling something is off but you would not know it. Then one day this co-worker decided to skip of his medication. all of the sudden you have this chemically unbalance person next to you, only a tick away from loosing it. it is scary.
Not saying we need to line up this people and contain them somewhere. Just saying if they want to live a normal life among others then they need to acknowledged they are not normal. they should have to identify themselves with their illness. I am speaking about the massive mental illens people. not someone with mildly depression treatments.
