"Rapture" i asked Mark if he can play Hydra - Affinity (Thrillseekers Mix) for me
"if i have it will play it" an hour or so later he was flashing his flashlight at me to
get my attention to let me know the track i requested was next! that was so
cool of Mark to do that, thanks again for playing my track!!!
the crowd was great! no pushing and shoving loads of room to dance, the hole night was
in front of the dj booth to the left where the bar is wow alot of room, had a great time!

Really? I thought the crowd was horrid, esp around 3 when the Drink where terrible hip hop was being played and the douchey crowd joined the main room. Plus whatever gash dubstep inside Chroma.
I was inside the deluxe lounge and the booth area beside the lighting control room so I was looking at the crowd a lot. About 90% of the people could not give a damn. Looked like a pack of zombies on the dancefloor. Mark O played about 3 hours of some of most impeccable programming for a trance set I've heard and if I was Mark, I would have been frustrated to . The crowd seemed not into the trance at all, even during le fromage vocal trance. The crowd did not seem to notice that the unicorn jesus came in form of classic trance and hardly any hands in the air during the epic breakdowns. I remember the times in the mainroom when certain songs would look like Baptist church revival service with all the hands in the air, with that look in people's eyes that there is bliss coming. That no longer seems to be the case. Sad.
I'll always appreciate the Gift so that for one night in the year, I can relive some of the magic that used to be in trance. But it's sad that the new generation of EDM don't know the classics. Yes, I know that the Gift isn't about just trance, but the classic trance was always the highlight. Well, I had fun. Hell, I even danced a bit. :p
But it's still a little sad that I can no longer look forward to a magical night at the Guv, and only fondly remember the memories of all the good times I had there.
PS: The Guv still has top notch production. Wicked lasers and lighting, plus cool going on the LED screen. The sound was top notch and hardly any ringing even without ear plugs. Even the long ass coat check line was pretty painless

Mark is the man!

Walked in and heard mark playing this. I just knew that it would be a stellar night. 1 of the best nights of the year (music wise) for me.

Not sure where you heard the sound that was top notch but i thought it was just horrible and i left because without plugs it was absolutely unbearable.
and the crowd wow. I have never been pin-balled like this ever :wtf: :wtf:.
Stayed in acid lounge for a bit which was nice nice at times but dj there lacked any flow whatsoever .
Ps. Since when security grabs your balls during search? i feel violated :haha:
