was that recorded at all.

I have been on a search for a musical journey since Sasha at SW4 last fall.

I went on the journey last night. So much to say and part of me wants to not share it in words because the music just moved me. (and I don't want to type a lot as I'm on my phone...lol)

Thank you Circus for bringing this legend to your club.

So it has been a long time since I have written a review about a party I've been to. That's because nothing has really warranted a review in a long while. Last night.....

Guy started off from the start of his set... he just reached out his hand and welcomed you to the dance floor. He got the crowd grooving, but didn't take long to pick it up to the next notch. His precision in the booth, his technical skills, his transitions.... simply amazing. I see now why he opens for Digweed so often.

Around the six twenty mark (i know only because i looked at my phone so I would remember to note this in my review) , the track he was playing made me feel like he was in the jungle, smashing bamboo with a machete. (It kind of had that Layo & Bushwacka "What do you say now" machine gun sound to it, except a shorter and quicker, more powerful sound.)... It just erupted over the speakers and molded with the music. That with the melodies behind it and the non stop beat... the crowd was EATING out of the palm out his outstretched hand.

The last 15-20 minutes of his set were mind blowing. The crescendo of melodies that layered and layered over one an other - the screams from the crowd - the hands in the air - the feet sliding left to right - the smiles. He brought that room to the peak of a musical high and trickled it down to a small whisper.

Applaud.

That was a journey I will never forget.

Thank you Guy.

awesome review, that set was rich on so many levels, his djing skills are on par with his productions and that's saying something.

Those following his productions and his sets would have still been blown away with what he can do live. Brilliant mind for this industry, indeed

only caught a bit of Richie G but he's a talent too, nice humble dude in person as well

Wonderful journey, can`t believe I paid 10$ for this !!

Nothing really to add after Knox review, it was a lot more techy than what I expected but I was still blown away.

Can you guys ID this one ?? Crowd loved it, vibe was great

Guy J came on he brought black cloud over Circus, and then he started to put one bomb after the other, what a vibe that club had on Friday night. Those spicy atmospheres,it seemed that there was gas in the air and you felt tightened. Deep journey.
It's amazing how he plays a lot of his own productions and remixes, and he transforms them into something else, he turns them darker and adds melodies to them. He would sample twisted vocals over his already dark and chuggy tracks.

This kid is the real deal, he came to stay, he's going to be huge, a future top dj. He's one one of those to whom you give a small room, or a huge stadium and he will set it on fire.

Great seeing and partying with some awesome friends, Knox, Spin, and Romanchik.

My short review (better late than never):

Guy J demonstrated once again (I also saw him at the last Black and Blue) that he is a very good dj...but remains a better producer.

Don't get me wrong, the tracks he played (mostly tech-house and techno tracks) were awesome, but he has this tendency of mixing from one track to the break of the other one.

Thus, his set lacked a bit of flow, kinda like when a prog dj plays tracks that have a lot of breakdowns. Considering the type of tracks he played, I think he would have played a set that would have gotten the crowd going even more if he avoided mixing this way.

It was a very good night out though. The crowd was great and, like I said, the tracks were solid. It was very nice to hear tracks from 16 Bit Lolitas, Robert Babicz, Juan Deminicis and, of course, Guy J himself on this system :)
