the south side of janesville isn't so bad. then again that's where i grew up so maybe i'm biased. the worst neighborhood is between the south and the east side (east side being the rich part of town)
seems like the east side of cities tend to usually be the nicer sides of town for some reason. the west and the south side always suck ass. chicago's a great example. the west side is awful and the south side is even worse if that's possible |

| In my city the south and east sides suck, the north and west sides are way nicer, though the north east side is nice too, except it borders south king county and this rule also applies at the county level there, with south king county being pretty bad as well. |

| In Montreal, it is the opposite. Montreal North is inhabited by roaming Haitian psychos. |

toronto the southern is better than the north.
But it depends what you define as "better"
the wealthiest area in toronto is not the downtown core but fairly north at around lawrence bayview area.
but if you go north of that jane and finch is generally considered the worst part of the city.
North of that you get into richmond hill, its decent but less urbanized. Good to buy a pre construction home near there. |

Very true, and applies to many cities. The wealthiest are not keen on conspicuous spending, the core downtown areas are usually populated by the fugascious nonplussed bantams who are oh so cosmetically insecure. |

because rich people like to have a view out over the city and at the same time have the sun directly into their balcony so obviously rich people need to be located north, looking south towards the sun. whats weirder is that east usually sucks more than vest. |
the world is 'round' |

I would suggest that Lawrence and Bayview is fairly mid town, no? It seems in Toronto the best neighbourhoods are in the Uptown and Midtown areas (for those unfamilure with Toronto the downtown is the southern core nearest the lake, uptown is just north of the downtown core so still in the south of the city, mid town is just north of uptown, and the north is north of midtown). Roseville is uptown, Bridlepath and Forest Hills are midtown. |

yeah you are correct.
I always think that toronto ends where the subway ends, it actually ends at steeles which is a further north.. so yeah you would be correct to say that the bridal path (ie lawrence and yonge can be considered more midtown. And if we are talking greater toronto area its actually still more south.
When people talk about downtown toronto i think they generally refer to anything south of st. clair if im not mistaken?
anyways i should know my city better :p |
