I was born and raised in Virginia until age 10, and lived in California 15 years. I survived the Loma Prieta earthquake (7.1!) and never want to experience another earthquake again. I also survived Tropical storm Allison, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Ike in Houston. I've lived in Houston since 2000 and, I love it. I ran a half-marathon in 2004 and I'm glad I did it. I have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (very high-functioning) and bipolar disorder but THEY DON'T HAVE ME. I am a born-again Christian - the secret to my happy outlook. I am an eternal optimist and a quiet, but outgoing person. We have one cat. We have chosen not to have children due to genetic issues. My favorite hobby is handing out Bibles to complete strangers.

I remember how I felt when we went to, I think it was 5 different doctors, maybe 6, and they all said "We can't do anything for neuropathy, do you want a narcotic?" Ron said "No way". Thank God. Those things are addictive.

I had turned on some Christmas music. Ron liked that. He got around to the point where he wanted to open presents. We took turns. He got lots of tasty snacks and a gift card. I got various fun items. The cats even got some presents.

Later on, I'll connect my cell phone to the computer and upload a few photos of Baby Girl. She's awfully cute.

Ron feels pretty bad, so we're going to save the Christmas day pizza for tomorrow or another night. We have to eat it by the 29th.

I'd like to get another pizza for New Year's, but that means going to Walmart. Yike. I know it will be crazy for the next couple days and I'd really like to avoid that.

I am transabled. I have Body Integrity Identity Disorder – BIID. Since the age of 3 or 4, I’ve needed to be paralysed “from the waist down”. This won’t come as any great surprise if you’ve been reading this site for any length of time. Occasionaly, I think of being a double leg amputee.

I saw an episode of Taboo about this. They had an older woman on there who desperately wanted to be paraplegic, and a 30-something Aussie dude who wanted nothing more than to lose his right leg just below the knee. He explained that ever since childhood he'd felt as if his one leg was not his own. Since no reasonable docotr would amputate a healthy limb for fear of losing their medical license, the guy basically froze his leg in a vat of sub-zero chemicals - similar to dry ice, but not the same thing - until it was so damaged that he had to be hospitalized and doctors were forced to remove it. He said later that his prosthetic limb felt more a part of him than his old leg. Very strange disorder indeed.

Also, still waitin' on definitions of dl/ab. Lastly, this thread really really stopped deliverying after the OP. Can't believe I took my pants off for the rest of this rubbish.

Now c'mon, someone more creative than me take some stabs at dl/ab before I resort to googling it.
