So can we move the "everything that's wrong with psyshell" discussion here now please? It'd be good if my dj mix thread's discussion got back to actually being about music or dj mixing. So anyway, I'll start. So apparently some of you believe my posts are hard to read. I counter by saying you're absolutely right and that I need to focus more on proper grammar, sentence structure and overall flow. IMO the main reason that's gotten poor for me lately is not having done anything academic or having written any long pieces of text apart from forum posts in a long while.

How about discussing your bristling over-sensitivity to legitimate criticism and the mental gymnastics fundamental to your attempts at rationalizing your glaring mediocrity?

To expect to be anything more than mediocre at djing after not doing it for a very long time would be arrogant.

If I don't have something useful to say I should probably post less. I'm sure I'm not the only person who does this sortof thing though.

That was mostly about making mistakes in terms of what I said and thinking that if I started a new thread I could control the tone. There is also the fact that it's a dj set thread, and anyone who doesn't like stupid drama probably doesn't want to read through it before giving feedback. It actually worked fairly well, not as well as I'd hoped but still. Not something I'll be doing again but it's something that was worth trying to see it's effect.

And you still managed to be completely crippled by your own arrogance.

So, what am I missing out on because I'm "crippled" exactly?

Accurate self-appraisal.

That's such a complicated thing to say that it's pretty useless without details. How good are you at self appraisal? Care to give us a rating out of 10?

I can take criticism and without bending over backwards to dispute every insignificant detail. While I might get defensive if one person is openly antagonizing me, when more than one person has taken the time to evaluate my work, I am quick to see where I am wrong without resorting to excuses and recrimination. Every single person who has posted in your thread has, on some level, taken issue with the quality of my own work and yet I'm pretty sure I've done a good job of acknowledging the validity of their complaints and moving on without being a pathetic ****.
