I wish, unfortunately DFRNT was in charge of that beat so it was at what it was meant to do.
My dad's a public servant who earns 60-90k per year who functions normal socially except for when it comes to dating self esteem, where he is very at dating. He reminds me of what my self esteem was like when I was 14. For instance he dated this girl for a couple of years who was very cruel to him, and in particular constantly made fun of anything nerdy he was into. So now he's stuck with this idea in his head that there's something really wrong with spending your time playing games... and that he should be watching movies or tv instead.
I told him that's bull, that what he does in his spare time is his choice and that if he's done his work stuff at work and his housework at home plus a little bit of practicing musical instruments (since he's into that) he may as well spend the rest of his time having any kind of fun he wants. If it's not specifically socialising with people then really it makes no difference either. If anything video games are much better for you than tv ever was so the whole idea that "oh gee if I spend 10% of my spare time playing games then I'm a loser, games are for kids" is just total bull. Even the mainstream doesn't think that anymore, maybe they did 5 years ago but they don't anymore. I told him there's nothing wrong with him and that dating total cunts tends to make you feel about yourself. Something I learnt several years ago. |
