Remember Simon Cowell's idea for a dance music reality TV show a little while back? He thankfully scrapped plans for such a show but now casting is open for an "Electronic Dance Music reality/competition show".
A website called edmcasting.com has appeared and looks to have been set up by Doron Ofir Casting, the company behind mainstream reality TV shows like Jersey Shore.
The site is inviting wannabe DJs to put themselves forward in the hope of being involved. Interested selectors have to apply by answering questions such as "What innovations do you bring to your genre / format?" and "BRAG! What are your best assets? Physical, material and social".
We're expecting this to be big, brash and probably quite funny. Is the world quite ready for an EDM reality show?!

true but im sure it comes with a nice payout, look at Pauly D now, the guy holds a resident gig in Vegas

State of EDM unfortunately.Most prob will be a bunch of electo house/ mainstream house and dubstep djs/producers. |

haha if this happens then it will be the first reality show in a while that will be real. I mean look at the main booked dj and their djing talent..
this show should be shown on history channel classified as nonfiction! |

i doubt it
mtv see's the explosion of edm in this country and is just tryin to milk it for what it can
the whole dj mag and crappy producer set dj sets seem to be the thing of the moment
iam sure the winner will fit right in with the main stream
i honestly only think if whoever the winner is declares he is a "techno dj" but spins electro house
than yea he will get laughed at/beat up
techno seems to be the only genre that dont have a sell out/commercial dj and i hope it stays that way
but yea it would be very interesting i could def see carl cox or hawtin slaping some 20 year old kid up for downgradeing the genre lololol |
