Wizoo Darbuka + General Plugin Legal Question

I need to purchase this software but it is no longer made... If I buy it from someone who legally bought it and they uninstalled it from their machine is the license transferrable to me for my projects?
I need to use it for my world music engineering thing and I need to know if I'd be allowed.
Also if anyone has any other suggestions for Darbuka drums + tabla drums (ethic drum suite vst if that exists) it would be great. |

Wizoo seems to have been bought out by M-Audio (ages ago perhaps?) and it appears to be a legacy product on their website. It does say it's not supported on anything later than Windows XP, so perhaps not a good platform to invest in.
Battery 3 has a ton on Middle Eastern and Indian drum content. There is a few Darbuka pads in the ME drum kit, but plenty of other very similar sounding drums as well. Same deal with Tablas, although there are far more of them there.
The best platform for this kind of stuff is Kontakt, so perhaps track down a copy of Komplete at some point if it's something you'll need a lot. |

the legality is irrelevant. |

So what should I do if I need this plug in? It's not in stores anymore anywhere.... It needs to be used on an album distriubted worldwide so there can be zero legal issues from whatever solution is derived all must be 100% legit.
Any ideas? |

again, you need stop stop thinking about law in terms of what is illegal and start thinking about what is something you will be prosecute for. There are companies 1000 x bigger than yours that break a lot more laws because the law is basically a series of risk analysis when it comes to business. There just isn't a risk with what you are doing. Nobody is going to waste police funds to prosecute something like this. Most police can investigate under 25% of all crimes reported and that is a conservative number. Almost all of those are violent offences.
Just don't advertise what you use. Done. Watermarking is a myth. It is something added to the information side to find out which users leak librairies. It was not around when this product was made. Unless you do something stupid like make a thread about it and said owner is on the forum, relax .
you are making a mountain out of a molehill. If most blockbuster films are not 100% legit, i think you will be just fine . |

your boss is an idiot.
But if you want to legal answer, no. There is no way to legal obtain the rights to use it. So book 1 hour of studio time where someone times have a license to use it. I think you are all being way too paranoid. |
