Hey,
I have a question regarding 64 bit vs 32 bit. I am going downloading the beta of live 9 off the ableton site and i can get either the 32 or 64 bit version. I am currently running Ableton live 8 which is 32 bit, windows 7 64 bit and have 8gb of ram. What i am wondering is would it be worth getting the beta of 64bit and buying the jbridge to run my 32 bit plugins or would i just stick with the 32 bit version and keep all my plug ins at 32 bit??
Thanks |

Why don't you just keep both? |

I'd say it's worth getting if you frequently run out of memory for Ableton or the plugins when working on projects. If that doesn't happen, I wouldn't bother. |

What kind of plugins are you running that don't have 64-bit support? |

On Windows 7 or 8 32bit and 64bit
If Ableton Live 32bit uses 3.2GB it crashes every time.
The only way to fix this is to Install Live 8 64bit beta or Live 9 64bit beta. use Jbridge to use 32bit plugs in Live 64bit.
Live 8 and 9 64bit can address atleast 16GB of RAM but it will only use as much as the plugins and samples take up.
max For Live 6 went 64bit yesterday its now in live 9 64bit beta. |
