Unfortunately, he was disappointing.
Andrew set up Quivver beautifully for a bangin prog set, but Quivver's set was flat, boring and very 2009 tech house sound. A few glimmers of his former glory popped up every now and then, but his mixing was terrible, he even let a track run out. If it was some new producer on the scene, it might be excusable, but he has almost 20 years under his belt.
The moment DNYO and Tim came on, they saved the night. I didnt stay til the end as I had to drive home, and I had gotten a healthy DNYO/Tim dosage the night before.
Big props to Oz who worked hard to get him here and is always the gracious host to his patrons.
Looking forward to see what Ozmozis has in store for the future. |

Pretty much what I thought.
Andrew was wicked. It's awesome to hear a DJ so proficient in the art of warming up properly. That's no slam on Andrew because very few DJs can't do warm ups properly. I just love the fact that he has his own unique sound (like, random Spanish guitars in a track that somehow works well) and he makes it work regardless where he plays.
Quivver... Severe case of good producer, not so good DJ. Expected more, but pretty boring tech house set. His 20 something agent was pretty funny though, and she wasn't doing it on purpose.
Wish more people stuck around for Tim Penner vs DNYO set but can't blame them after Quivver's not so good set.

Andrew's set was awesome. Right up my alley.
I enjoyed Quivver. There were are a couple of tracks peppered in his set that were downright storming.
Wish I had stayed for DNYO though. His productions are stellar. I was way too tired at that point.
Glad to see progressive making its way back into Toronto more frequently lately. |
