In an indirect manner the US helped the mujahideen when they gave them financial aid and weapons. Another relic from the Cold War that bit us in the ass a couple decades later.
"Under Operation Cyclone from 1979 to 1989, the United States provided financial aid and weapons to the mujahideen through Pakistan's ISI." |

Your post has zero informational value. Why did you start this thread? You could have at least elaborated a bit on why you thought it was boring. |

i guess a lot of historians and film critics are flipping about this movie because of all the factual inaccuracies it portrays. supposedly, torture wasn't a major cause of the capture of bin laden, yet the movie basically glorifies it as a necessary evil that was critical in getting bin laden. amongst other things.
the movie was pretty meh, imo. and the main female character was ugly, and the main(ish) male character had a retarded-looking jew fro that would've made me laugh if he was trying to pull the good cop/bad cop routine on me.
...then again, waterboarding would suck ass, man. |

Indeed. If anything the mujaheddin was mostly at odds with Osama as he was a wealthy Saudi rather than a true tribal Afghani. The USA was arming them at a differnt time too and Osama eventually facilitated an overturn of power within(against) the mujaheddin. |

| Saw it today. Movie was meh. Although for some reason I like Jessica Chastain. Her acting in Take Shelter and The Help are pretty great. Rising talent imo |
