I've been missing out on music for many years now. It's hard to get into again because there is just too much music out there, also times have changed. When i was really addicted to house music it was a completely different style which is more or less dead now. So im asking you, which tunes shouldn't be overlooked from this period (circa 2007-2012)?

I absolutely love these tunes below, so here's just to give you an idea:

Telefon Tel Aviv - The Birds (Kassey Voorn & Turner Remix)
Gui Boratto - Beautiful Life (Original/Buratto Remix)
Moby - Wait for Me (Paul Kalkbrenner Remix)
Gui Boratto - No Turning Back (David Tort the Mansion Remix)

This might've been discussed earlier. If so, please ignore and let this thread die. :p

At a general level, the handiest way I know of for keeping up with tunes is a handful of podcasts, they tend to be rather representative of the times and pretty much every genre has a handful of them that are worth following.

I follow Christopher Lawrence, J00F, Gareth Emery's podcasts for trance (which wasn't what you were asking for sorreh) John B, DJ Marky (DnB, again not what you were asking for, sorreh) and Groovanauts (which is a DC area one that has pretty much every genre depending on who they get as a guest mix, and that is the one I'd recommend to you)

Edit: I'm also into the XLR8R and Resident Advisor casts, which are generally your pretentious "forward thinking" type stuff where they try to dig up pioneering new genres and what have you.

You should definitely check out the "best of 2012 extravaganza" thread. a lot of good albums suggested. I don't know about the last 5 years though, a lot to ask for. Also a big yeah to 'Wait For Me' - that was played more than any other track for a long long time.

Took a listen to a few of those tracks. Seems like you're into more upbeat, percussion heavy tech house. It's not really a sound I follow, but I'll try anyway.
