Tribal House played at Stereo is progressive. Chus & Ceballos, Victor Calderone, DJ Vibe etc are Tribal Progressive House DJs. Can't you recognize a progressive sound?

@ Julien

Le Passeport? Not really, they hire anyone in their crew. One of my friends got his residency at Passeport the week after he mixed for his first time ever.

That is the first time I have ever seen anyone refer to them as that.

You should get use to it because it's a progressive structure, it's progressive house by definition.

I'd call the sound they made their name with "progressive tribal", the original Stereo Recordings releases. Not so much anymore though.

I disagree, not every night is perfect(name me a club where it is), but they work very hard on bigger boookings and I have some really good fun there.

Cause lets not kid ourselves, you're not gonna fill this big club with Dj Douche from Brossard.

i've given up on montreal. There is not one place that plays good music blend, has attractive stylish people with interesting jobs that aren't douche bags . REgarding the music, too many djs get stuck in their micro genre and play awful including their own tracks and it is just awful. That or the dj that is just all over the place. The only good things happening are private. But ya, every time we are in montreal and go out, it is always just mediocre.

The best nights out I've had recently have been at Bleury Bar, Move D on Halloween was a great night.. good looking crowd, everyone was having a good time.

And Roman Flugel, also at Bleury.. the most educated crowd I've ever seen in Montreal easily. A bit more dudes then at Move D, but still some decent tail. Crowd cheers when an acid line crept into the mix put a smile on my face.

I heard Eddie C's gonna be there next month, gonna check that out.

Went to Peopl last night.....I used to really enjoy going to UN when it first started.

Closing Dj was just awful last night....no rhythm, no soul.....just pounding and very crusty techno.

Also What is the deal with having 20 people behind the Dj booth these days...it looks like Assssss...

we'll have to agree to disagree, almost all the bookings I've seen at NCG [top level] are the big name, generic sounding, watered down, commercial ones (i.e. AN21, Skrillex, Fedde, Dirty South, Wolfgang Gartner, etc).

I understand their business model, in any case, as these names may be the safest way to fill that massive top level.

And for sure, you can have some fun there, regardless, but most of the 'quality' bookings seem to be downstairs. As the thread starter was asking for places that play 'decent' house music, I personally wouldn't recommend NCG for that..... except, again, the bottom level.

'quality' is relative term but us TA nerds know what I'm talking about :p
