Needles are not the worse. Last time I donated blood the doctor and my sister were singing Asereje for me to calm down :stongue: I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry :p |

Well, I don't
Actually, I'm one of those people who actually need the blood that people donate. I happen to be thalassaemic(I can't remember how it's written in English) so I get transfusions about every 15 days or sth.
The process of giving blood isn't really painful(hey, I get injections and stuff really often, so I should know something more than you;)).
It's just that people don't have close relations with medical stuff(apart from the ..drugs:rolleyes:)so they get a bit scared(if not having a tendecy to run away screaming) whenever they see a doctor or needle.
Now, concerning Red Cross. I really don't think there is an "infected needles" issue or anything like this. It's a major organisation and they "keep the place tidy" by all means. Plus, having nurses expertising in taking blood.
You also don't need 1 spare hour to give blood. The whole deal is about 10'. Nothing more. Unless there is some special case and tests needed to be carried out.
The dizzyness you feel after giving blood is caused because..you gave blood. It's that simple. But there isn't a problem since a healthy(I mean not having any form of anaemia e.t.c.) person has its' blood refreshed every now and then. Human body keeps generating fresh blood which replaces the : old : one frequently, so the though of being left without blood because you gave 300-500Ml of blood is a bit naive.
Well, that's it for now. It's late,
If anybody wants any more info, I'm here, willing to enlighten people:D
