| Not trying to turn the forum into a foodie guide haha, but I'm curious to hear peoples' thoughts on this. So far I'd say my favorite is Ashton's, but I don't know if they have that in Mtl. I've only had it in Quebec City. I know one for sure, La Banquise is not on my list. Where should I try next? |

From my experience, there isn't one thats hands down the best. Banquise sucks, I don't understand the hype. The sauce and the fries suck, all the toppings mean nothing if the sauce is .
My personal favorite poutine in the city is Rapido on the corner of St-Denis and Mont-Royal, down the street from Daome.. every time I go to Daome I grab one with hotdogs...sauce is amazing, fries are greasy but not too greasy. Cheese is always perfectly melted and stringy.
Decarie Hotdog makes a great poutine too, their sauce is a reddish brown, different but amazing. It closes early and its in a small neighbourhood though, not close to any of the action.
I've heard mixed reviews about Poutiville, similar concept to Banquise.
This should help you, apparently we're missing out on some good poutines in Montreal.. must go to Pohenemagook.

For a small portion, thin sauce with a hint of a wine base, good curds and shoestring fries, Patati Patata is fantastic.
If I'm drunk: Chez Claudette |

My favorite spots are Patate Rouge way uptown by the highway and Hot Dog Mont Royal on Mont Royal street.
Poutineville has a nice concept too where you customize your poutine with different varieties of fries, cheese and extra toppings. This would be your best option imo. |

I've had #6 on the list but i wouldn't recommend driving 7 hours to Rimouski for it :gsmile: |

| Montreal Pool Room has a decent one. I only mention it as it is suprising because all of their food sucks. I'm dying for a Benny's chicken poutine. The big one that clogs your ass up for 3 weeks. |

Honestly, I'd say the Philly Poutine found at Les 3 Brasseurs, hands down.
La Banquise is highly overrated, it's a pricy Belle Province poutine simply put.
Everyone are recommending me Poutineville though. |

Rapido as mentioned by corjay, is probably my favourite.
Been to La Banquise, I thought it was pretty good but not as good as Rapido.
Patati Patata was good. |
