Back in the day you'd go to a club, enjoy the peak show, then head to an afterhours club which always had a darker and trippier vibe.

So when I do the solo sets, around 5am I transition from peak hour Markus to afterhours Markus, everything starts getting weird / trippy.

So full MS spectrum in solo set is 3 in 1 - deep warmup, peak hour (what you usually hear), then rabbithole + classics

Y'know I just started thinking back. When I was just in High School ('99) I started listening to something I called Techno. Which was me just generalizing this new music I found. I think I bought Discovery by Daft Punk and melted the out of that CD. Slowly after that I started listening to other things and in '03 is when I started listening to ASOT while I was in college working on designs and studying. Of course where I went to school (bum kentucky) there was nothing but country and no real venues playing this type of music, so I kept listening but was unable to really embrace Trance.

Push forward to 2010 when I moved to Miami and was able to finally check this music out live. I had heard a trance dj lived here in Miami so I was excited and wanted to check him out. Got a chance to take part in the Sleepwalkers music video and got to meet Markus, Melly Mel, and Skorpio. Signatures, Photos, the whole shebang. Afterwards Markus was just walking around and I got to talk to him for about 30 min with my friend.

Most down to earth chill guy, I could hear his excitement over the fact that he got to hang out with some of his heroes back in the day like Skorpio and Melly Mel. I love his music but I love his enthusiasm and ethic in what he does.

TL;DR (I'm gay for Markus)

yea i though the same thing also.
dt does it tho to weed out the noobs ha ha ha
but yea i honestly enjoyed this set, to me this is what peak hour markus is all about. if he could go back to opening up with some really decent prog then transition to this style he would be making a statement and getting away from the commercial bull that is the killing the scene
