hey guys,
i'm new here and decided that the best way to get started was to have my new track ripped to shreds. i suck at genre classification so i'm just calling it experimental electro. give it a listen if you have the time and let me know what you think.

The feeling is very dry and digital, and you need some proper samples and synth sounds in there. Right now it sounds like the drums from whatever DAW you are using that came with it, and presets on top of presets.
At least you are starting to get ideas strung together and are working on stuff. Sounds like you've been working on production for about a year, and if that's the case, I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep working and learning. |

thanks for the feedback. i've been working on producing for a year, but just started working with electro about 4-5 months ago. i'm actually using battery and drumatic for my drums, but have yet to really alter them much at all aside from the basics, plus the install of battery didn't work and i only have probably 10-15% of what's actually available in the program (legit copy, but i run an ultrabook with no cd drive so i had to install them on an old laptop, and copy/paste it into my external hard drive. did the progression sound ok, and the melodies, and just the overall mesh of the sounds? i'm definitely using presets on most everything in this track, but do have some songs in the works using ones built by me. they're just still being worked on. |
