Tonearm problem [Technics 1200]

Just got some technics SL-1200MK2 and one of them seems to have a problem, I think I've narrowed it down to the tonearm and not quite sure how to fix it. When a record is playing, the needle (if looking at it from the top) will move to the farthest right of the stylus and plays fine for that amount of time but then it jumps back to the center creating an infinite loop of around 10 seconds of play. Not cool, lol :)

I've tried about 3 different needles with it (Stanton Trackmaster, Trackmaster II, default technics one) and they all do the same thing. However when I use the other turntable, it works fine with all 3 needles. I've changed the weight/balance settings to be the same on both tables and while one plays fine the other has that annoying problem. I managed to get it to play right by applying a bit of pressure physically to it and moving the stylus over when it looks like the needle is about to go back to the center.. but that solution isn't very viable. I'd like to find out how I can have the turntable do that by itself :P

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I don't really understand what you're asking here. Where is your anti-skating set to? From what i understand, this could be the problem.

But please, reword your question cos i don't get it
hey cheggy
I take it you're not using the same record to conduct theses tests as well.

i think im reading that right, and it makes no sense at all.

I have no advice

Hmm, I re-read it and it seems clear.. but I'll rephrase it:

The needle skips back every 10 seconds or so of play, so it will only play 10 seconds of the track wherever I put it and then play those same 10 seconds again. The stylus refuses to move along the record unless I press it down some myself. So the question is how can I fix this?

Also, it didn't work on any record I tried and I tried quite a few so I'm sure it's not a bad record b/c it also played fine on my other table.

Oh, and I tried all the anti-skate options.. it just made it take longer to skip again

Hopefully this is easier to understand :)

add more weight maybe?

I figured it out, here was the problem for anyone else who may have the same problem later on or whatnot; the pivot point on the tonearm was fastened too tight so needle would move but not the cartridge because it is attached to the tonearm which wouldn't move. So I oiled it a bit and loosened some and now it works just fine.
