I saw some kid post that on facebook - somebody I went to school with, who seems to have jumped on the pop-EDM bandwagon.
Look, if you're going to parties where that happens, you're at the wrong party. Just like somebody mentioned earlier in the thread. It's your own fault.

Shame on ta for allowing defamation of its heroes. Shame on any poster on this "grease who verbally ridicules any DJ without giving credit to his inspiration first. You think your ug parties for your clever little circle of friends is so great and yet you have to hide the truth. Your musical defiance is inspired still by DJ number 1.
:D

Absolutely every party has a VIP area though. I rarely went out back home, but when I did it was in the back with friends to stay away from the common folk.

Of course, and for good reason - but my riff wasn't really on the prominence of VIP culture in parties, but rather on that idea that everybody wants to hang out in the booth to be seen/mingle/trainsspot/whatever. That isn't really the case outside of the pop-oriented parties, from my experience. Yeah, at the more underground parties, people still get their kicks by looking important in and around the booth, but those same people can usually be found on the dancefloor getting down too.

Anyone who knows me and has partied with me on this site (there are quite a few) knows that I was the sweatiest, grungiest, feet on the floor, back to the booth motherfucker out there.
Now I'm in my 30's. I don't have patience for teenagers tripping balls unless the balls that they are tripping on are mine and they are clean shaven.
Even when my friends were playing, I didn't hang out in the booth. It's kind of gay if you are a dude. Laid back in the back. Bust a groove if you are in the mood. Just keep the PLUR away.

Not just in the states man. In Europe as well. Of course Trance and EDM (except Electro) is 10 years behind in the states, but the "dance"-culture is almost the same. EFM :haha: good one!

But it's funny how the majority at Space, Godskitchen and Trance Sanctuary actually parties and dances, compared to the majority at ASOT 00's who just stands faced the DJ's and filming them... Just sayin'

I stopped caring about other people a few years ago, and once that happened I started actually enjoying myself again. If they want to film, film, if you don't want to dance and just stand there like idiots, go for it. As long as you're not ing with me or trying to be a douche, then who gives a .

True. And I really don't care about other people myself, I just wanted people's opinion on this topic ;)

Before phones, there were still twats who stood around on the dance floor taking up prime real estate. They got what i like to call "boogie elbows". Get the out the way crackers.

Most actual music has no flow and no groove, you can't dance on that ...
