Before I really started getting into trance, I was a Rap guru. I don't listen to it as much as I used to, but I still enjoy a break from trance every now and then, so I swing back to rap. Not too mention, the clubs where I live play rap, so if I want to go out and have a fun night, i basically have to listen to it. Anyway.. I like music with a beat that you can dance to. Rap has this. Flame me for liking it, I don't really care. I'm not going to pretend I don't like it or stop liking it just because people on the board will flame me/tell me it sucks.

LOL, Retards Attempt Poetry. Well yeah, Rap IMO is not music. All you do is speak words while a beat is playing in the background. And nowadays, rap/hip hop have become very controversial for targetting minorities and vulgar language, so that's why rap sucks.

How about your a ing idiot?

Look, I don't wanna get into this argument again, but I had to step in and stand up for my second love, hip-hop. And no, I don't love rap, I love hip-hop, the entire culture.

Given, it was a really ing dumb question to put on a trance board in the first place, but still.

Hip-Hop isn't just the "CashMoney" & "Puff Daddy" image. That's bull. Dialated Peoples, Tribe Called Quest, 4Horsemen(Monch, Common, Absoloute, and Black Though), The Roots, These are hip-hop groups.

And untill you can tell me that you've listened to all of these and put some thought into what the lyrics and the culture MEANS, don't on hiphop, there is not a way to do it without sounding ignorant.

It's like someone who knows absoloutly nothing about any electronic music listening to a Dave Pierce cd and forming an opinion that Trance sucks.

MTV & Billboard make up less than 1 percent of the Hip-Hop culture. Don't be ignorant.

Don't generalise people.
Is there good rap? Yes, there is... though I hardly find something that I like. However, if you don't like something, it doesn't mean that it's crap.

I don't like Led Zepelin (at all), but is it crap? No - the fact that I can't hear it for more than 30 secs not being bored doesn't mean that it's worthless.

I don't like Britney Spears either, but may be, she did try to do art... not recognised by most of us, but it doesn't lose it's value just because it's exploited by publicity... it's just like when you say; "Tiësto is now mainstream, therefore, he sucks"...

OK, did anyone of these people that just posted read my post or did you all just see the thread title and posts the obligatory "RAP SUCKS" message? Is there a reason for this or does it just "suck"? I mean, that word is mature as hell and all, but...lol.

Look, listen to a Dialated Peoples song, or a 4 Horsemen song. There is nothing about "flossin jewels" or "ridin 22s" or whatever. It's real. Nothing but real.

I go to Hip-Hop/Reagge night at a bar here in Gainesville every Teusday night. Last night I was there and I overheard a conversation between 2 guys leaning in the corner.
One said "You know what I love about this night here? Everyone in the place is real."

That was so true, and I had so much more fun that night, just cus I had that thought in my head.

Everyone in there was living that culture. No one was too stuck up to dance, and not just dance, but let the music take over their body. Sound like a familiar type of music?

Put thought into you assumptions. Don't be ignorant.
