I don't understand people up in arms about a ten dollar event in MIAMI
guys...the question here is kind of only...do you want to see K&A and potentially other good trance? or not...because imho at 10$ I can go and freaking leave if it sucks. But as a huge euphonic fan, I wouldn't let the venue keep me from such a cheap show...in Miami....
of course I wish the venue would be immaculate and sound is so so important but so far I see no other trance shows this night so im trying to stay grounded and be thankful that in 2013 I can even say I have a full week of trance....sadly we all know trance is not quite as popular atm as other genres whether we like it or not.
(I don't like any other genres, so maybe for me its an easier decision...I will not be going to techno or house instead of this...id rather go to bed)
/rant :D
edit: I had originally put K&Y hahahhahaha too bad no one noticed that would have been prime time to make fun of me ;) |

I checked out clandestine last year the sound in there was all ed up way too much bass and not enough mids/highs. You can tell the system is there for reggaeton/hip hop. But honestly it wasn't that bad besides that.
Just the fact that it's 18 and up makes me have no interest... Can't hang around 18 year olds hyped up on methylone/methedrone who can't act right |

Ronski Speeed
Tritonal
Dennis sheperd
Norin & Rad
Khomha
1 of these is a for sure
and with a possibility of a second one
As far as 18+
we still can make the party 21+ at the end of the day All Trance fans are all the same in MIAMI if your complaining about that well im sorry we have a lot of out of towners coming for this show , we just want to Maximize the amount of people since where they will be playing is bigger than the Main room or Terrace at Space .
so we need as much support as possible , and at least someone is trying to Educate the Young up coming ones with some quality music instead on Jumping on the Bang wagon like any other venue
As far as sound , we working on the whole entire production for this event.
Lets support the Good music i can guarantee you that this party will be really cool and i will take care of all Loose ends ... |

truth is if the younger ones arent let in to events like this, all they will have it guetta and SHM (who will never leave) and so on....so i agree with this. They shape our future and our genres future and EDM as a whole. We need to let them in and kindly show them "the way" or at least give them an opportunity to enjoy this and help us grow...we need their bodies and their money (to put it bluntly) and Im sure youll find some you even like to hang out with at shows....EDM is labelled recently the most accepting group of individuals...let us not forget that. Thats an awesome and amazing label, especially now a days
and honestly if you are "too mature" to deal with young kids...then how mature are you to not just walk the frig away?
I dont love seeing people all young and messed up but to be 100% honest here.....the full grown adults can be much worse... |

There is a reason why most money making clubs in Miami are not 18 and up... The kids have no money to spend (clubs make profit on drinks) the liability of underage drinking and the sometimes more disrespectful nature of them.
I think it's the other way around the reason why trance has fallen off in the us is because of the candy kids. People with money to burn (23-29 year olds) are lookin more at tech bookings to avoid the situation.
I understand the whole idea of giving them good music, but i will drop my usual 120 minimum at another event for me and my wife to enjoy.
Wish the promoters and k&a best of luck as they are one of the few good trance acts out now and days. |

| I'm contemplating this event cause it's so cheap...even if 18+ I kind of like watching the youngins act a fool, it adds that element for me. If they are out of control I just move to another part...but please no tritonal...Ronski will seal the deal for me |

I don't have anything planned this night. Let me know if you decide to go. I'd rather be with someone than in a sea of 18 year olds. |

If you look at most of us that are complaining we are near or from the Miami area. It's easy for you to say because you live in NY, where in the past few months you've seen or going to see: Solarstone, JOOF, Boom Jinx, Nitrous Oxide, Ashley Wallbridge, Alex MORPH, Lange, Leon Bolier, Daniel Kandi, Eco, and Ferry Tayle. That's just within the last two months and upcoming two months.
I think in the last year we have seen: Armin, Markus, Aly & Fila, GO, Ferry Corsten, Richard Durand, Cosmic Gate, Tritonal, K&A, and a few more. Look at the disparity there. You guys get all the same people we have plus the REAL trance guys. The year before that was about the same plus or minus a few names. So we are getting the same DJ's year in and year out.
WMC is the one time a year where us Miamians get some great talent to come in. Which still rarely happens. What do we have this year that wasn't here last year trance wise? Solarstone, JOOF, Kristina Sky, Max Graham, Bobina, and Ummet Ozcan. Of course I'm going to be picky its my money and I'd rather spend way more at ENTER or something Techy if the lineup is better, which most of the times it is. |

While youre right on this fact...its a half truth...
We only just now get these guys...like- legit starting next weekend...
{eco lives here so he doesnt count we just win on that note hehe}
[bobina has never been here...i hope hes coming...please tell me where you saw that!!]
While i will in no way argue that we are blessed here in ny- esp compared to FL- my point still stands when you note the $10 price tag...
Its kind of rough because every point being made here has validity, ill say that for sure.
But in NYC we deal with 80% of the crowed dressed as clowns, high, and all under 20. We are paying our dues....HARD CORE. Its rough. I cant go out with more then a tee and sneakers now (dressed up i look like a fool and i show my age). Theres no point. And the women are girls, and if I get hit on Im certain I could get in trouble for underage action.
Our shows are now costing us anywhere from 25$ presale to 100$ easy (we had above and beyond go “sold out” so people started pay 150-300 a piece then the promoter announced some sales at the doors- wallet rape right there). These prices are 50% because the CAN and 50% bc trance does not bring a big enough crowd to only charge something like $10 nowadays. So...when i deal with these youngsters I cringe and i bear it because without them, I would not be seeing Solarstone in three days. It is honestly only because we finally have a big enough crowd of people that will deal with higher tickets prices as well as lesser venues (our venues are really going down hill, we’re an embarrassment to the industry!)
To delve further into this, it should be stated that- now that we have an extra 150 people attending these shows- we now have enough people attending to book people like Rich, which means that now that he will be here in the US he can add other shows to his plate...in turn someday soon making it to places like Philly and DC and Miami and LA....it has to start somewhere and here in the US its NYC BECAUSE of the 18 19 and 20 year old people that have the money to come out and are willing to support because we don’t give them a hard time (though we sometimes want to).
On that note, too, you mentioned in miami the younger crowd doesn’t have the money- if they don’t have the money then how are they coming out so often that they are annoying you? Theyre supporting by being bodies in the crowd |

The teen crowd is all the same pretty much everywhere. Ticket sales are about the same for us as it is you guys. I don't pay under $30 for most Trance guys that come here. Of course the big names will sell for way, way, way more but what do you expect when they just stick to the big guys.
My point about the DJ's you guys are getting is that in the past few months and upcoming you have talent rolling in. We are lucky to get one person a month and even then it's the cheesy guys that honestly don't play Trance at all anymore. The glaring difference between NYC and Miami is the promoters. Esscala works hard and brings Kearney and the such. I don't know what the promoters are up to here in Miami but it doesn't seem like we get any variety except for WMC.
I'd deal with the teen crowd for most anyone but not when I can easily avoid them at WMC. And, yes, there are I've seen some really stupid adults (Space) but it's definitely not as bad as at the 18+ events. Had a guy share with me he was high as hell on blow, I said cool and he didn't bother me one bit after that. Can't say its the same for an idiot rolling balls and falling all over the place. |
