Wow Sasha was fantastic last night. :D I had a great time.

Last night was a bit of downer for me but would love to hear other people's take on it.

PROS:

Club is really nice, intimate, great for socializing, they've used good materials and you can see for a 500 person venue they've spent a lot of money on it.

Sound system is good, not amazing. A funktion1 in there would have been incredible but it's still good none the less. They had the levels just right, loud, but you didn't need a megahorn to speak to the person next to you.

People were really friendly and there were a really diverse crowd.

Got a parking space literally outside the club (WIN).

Getting in was a breeze. My printer broke as I went to print them out (the sign of things to come) but they were able to scan the pdf on my phone so no trouble and the door staff were actually really polite.

CONS:

The biggest problem was that Sasha was super ing delayed and no one had a clue what was going on. I was in the club at 11pm and left around 1:40am and Sasha was still not playing. People were getting seriously pissed and you could tell everyone was just waiting around for him to show up.

Lauren Lane was cute and not playing bad tunes, but her best music was from 11pm until just after 12pm. Even though she didn't anything up, her mixing was soooo timid - mostly end to start of tracks, I didn;t hear a single cut or playing with the EQ's. I got the feeling she had set herself up to play until 12 when sasha meant to be on but couldn't really pull off a fluid performance to play for the next two hours

The security in/around the dancefloor really got on my, and other peoples nerves: they kept asking people who were just chilling or chatting around the edges of the dance floor to move in "to make walkway space", but it was really a thinly veiled attempt to get people to pack out the dance floor. The third time he asked me to move I had a go at him and told him I wasn't moving. When he realized I was getting pissed he backed off (although by the size of the guy he would have snapped me in two pretty easily lol).

The bottle service thing was so tacky. Really, you bought a bottle of Dom. You need an applause? I do get it, they make a bunch off fleecing the richtards, but even they were getting annoyed with the bright white LED and sending 4 girls over to pour one drink. I wish this crap stayed in Vegas where at least you expect it. Not at a small venue with Sasha.

Drinks - I didn't find them that expensive but they by FAR THE WORST I'VE EVER BEEN SERVED. The GF got a diet coke, but it was not. It was like badly mixed fake soda stream cola or even Rite-cola. Syrupy, flat and tasted terrible. I got a captain and seven, and couldn't even finish it as it tased so bad. Those two cost me $15 and it's not on to sub out cheap alternatives. You get either pepsi or coke. 7up or Sprite. Not flat home made piss in a plastic glass.

In summary, I really like the club, the staff overall were really nice, but whoever made Mr. Coe's travel arrangements need to be fired. You don't try to fly from the east coast during winter snowstorms with no margin for error. The bar was closed by the time he got on the decks my friends who got in there at 2:30am said everyone was really drugged up by then, so I'm glad I didn't stay as it couldn't have been that night for me.

Yeah Sasha showed up really late, around 1:30. Seems like he likes to do that, last time I saw him he did the same thing, came on around 1 too.
Cool1g
not knowing what the set times were supposed to be i had assumed he was coming on a 1 and playing to 4.... he didn't start too late for me in that context. maybe others were assuming he'd be on a 12 maybe?

wasn't going to make it last night for various reasons, but in the witching hour we got a hookup and our other plans fell through! had never been to Sound before. so-so club. for a place called Sound, you'd think the sound would be ing epic., I give it a 7 out of 10.
Sasha played amazingly! I really love what he's doing right now. And after my involver3 sneak preview, I know it's goin to be an awesome year of tunes from the man. love him!
cheers to LL for a great opening set and keeping people pretty well satiated during sasha's plane delay.
:D

if I remember correctly, they are supposed to have Funktion Two at Sound.

Funktion One is a brand name. so unless someone is ripping them off, or they made a terrible branding/marketing mistake, there is no such thing as funktion 2. F1 has a model called resolution2 which are ing amazing, but that is not what Sound has. I couldn't really tell what sound had, and F1 is very good about letting people know they're there :D

Sound does claim they have Funktion One.

I was exaggerating with the Funktion Two as I've read some releases even here on trance adddict. I think in terms of sound systems, I'm quite up to date with them since we rent them for every event we do (although we prefer Meyer over Funktion One) > http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...=2#.UTw-Nq6vcS4

Nah, I left around 1:40am and he still wasn't playing. Maybe I missed him by seconds but there were tweets from people after 1:30am asking him to get his butt in the club. On the the promoters said he was "due there earlier than 1am" and the fact Sasha's tweets said "still 3 hours of having it" means he expected to be there earlier.

I am quite gutted I missed him but still had a good time overall and would certainly go back when I don't have to go down the salt mine the next day.

I am amazed that that is a funktion 1 - I used to work with them back in the UK (we supplied all their cables) and that has to be the worst sounding F1 I've ever heard (again not that it's a bad system just that f1 usually sounds so good for EDM due to their bass extenstion and "snap" around 1khz). It's one of those systems you can hear the moment you step foot in there. Not that I looked that hard but I didn't see any of the taletale angular horns or cube bass drivers anywhere.

EDIT: Just looked at some pics and the system is a mix of F1 and some other brand(s) (the bass drivers over the dance floor and booth monitors for instance are not F1). All the pre launch press releases say F1 sound system which I suppose is partially true and it seems the "F2" reference was a typo.
