I also had heard he was a dj who plays all the anthems, and s with the sound to much. BUT I saw him play for the first time here for WMC @ Space in Miami and I have to say it was SICK (That night it was John 00 Fleming, Jules, Tiesto, and Johan)

Jules Played HARD , Marcel Woods - Drama, Reeloop - ing Society. I hardly could stand.

If I understood the original post correctly, I don't believe this thread has any intent at all to flame Jules.

JohnSmith is merely trying to find an example of why so many people around here hate Jules so much. Not just what someone says about the guy... but an audible recorded reason as to why he's "so bad"

From the limited amounth of Jules I've heard I like him. Quontact was tight as and I've heard some other random niceness from him. I look foward to seeing him in Miami in November. I won't have a conclusion on his talents untill I attend a live show. I'll post up a synopsis of that night though, most likely, and that will be what I think of Jules.

And as for the "Stop flaming" posts, I give props to John Smith here for not just going with the crowd and taking the time to form his own conclusion.
JohnSmith
thank you spykechyld.

and i hope you follow my advice over in the DJ booth too, just keep saving you will have technics someday.

as for jules, he is OK, but there are better DJs.
and i think DJ richy just likes him because they look the same. :P

of all the times ive heard jj, ever since everyone hated his guts back at the start of the year, hes got progressivly worse. ie he plays jsut a mish mash of styles of tracks, and not jsut hard/sift tracks, liek enlgish style mixed with european and imo it sound stupid, liek marco v set mashed with dumonde set. complety different styles! when i first saw him i had an ok opinion of him. surely the guy can mix, anyone who says he cant is a bit of a joker, but his tune selction is complety unstructered. a good exampel is green velvet -flash followed by airwave another dimension! smattering of techno, funky house, melodic trance and even hh sumtimes, all makes for a rather bad style all round, that is why peopel dont like him and say hes "". he jsut needs to sort his style out again!

JJ aint that bad, I like mostly all his sets excluding this hard
he plays now and then, some set from Mega.. something, I could
stand 20 minutes and then i turned it off, too hard for me.

But his set from Nottingham 2001, Qontact and others are really
good to listen too and his show is pretty okay too, it was there
i was first introduced to Brancacctio & Aishers "Its gonna be a lovely day" and oh what a lovely day it was.

LOL, seb said that, he used to spin trance, lol

You cna tell jules loves the music, just by wot he looks like when he spins, and how often he can play certain tunes, like "fuct camera"

You should stop beleiving rumours mate :)

actually i think this is the problem... he is a damn cornball on stage. always waving his arms around and being all retarded like. i don't have a problem with his sets or his projects i.e. angelic, but the man in general is just so cornball... i can't put it any other way...cornball.:whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :tongue3 :tongue3 :tongue3 :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:

I saw him spin on Brighton Beach in 2000, he was ok, but not great, he played some great trancers for the time (Mario Piu - The Vision (Vision One Mix), Safri Duo - Played-a-live before it came commercial etc) but they were near the beginning of the set and he played some weird stuff towards the end, cant put a genre tag on it, it was just....well, , for someone thats been around as long as him youd have thought hed have learnt set structure  ah well, he was followed by Oakie that night who was total, utter wank :p

Cant be arsed to post anymore in this thread, anyone who matters knows my opinion on the man

And if u saw him do his little camera thing when he plays fuct camera, etc then he is a cool bloke, and in real life, totally sound :)

I seem to be the only one that likes when DJs interact with the
crowd instead of just standing infront of the decks, cueing up
and then looking at you with that "il kill you faster then you can say technics"-look

I like when DJs whistle, jump around and show that they are actually
liking the music and enjoying the company that you and your mates
are giving him/her
