Just sounds like more empty garbage to me, for "swag", hip teepy bopper trendsters who think it's "tight as hell". More entertaining noise with no musical merit what-so-ever. Who likes it? People who haven't been around long enough to know any better. What does it sound like? Instrumental hiphop with more emphasis on the WORST parts of house music or dubstep, especially the sirens and leads. And like l4c said, more emphasis on the hihats because gosh, nothing cool than a poorly swung 808 hat. Makes it sound SO dope and gangster.

With so much other better, quality, artistic work out there from many other genres of EDM, hopefully it will be like emo/hardcore music where a few years later, no one talks about it much less admits they ever listened to like that. Just annoying to see lame kids acting like it's "in". Yeah, it's in if you don't know about good music and are still reeling from high school like it was the greatest, most thrilling experience of your life.

Totally agree. It's poor man's synth hip-hop, with the worst elements from commercial hip-house and dubstep thrown in for bad measure. I think the fact it's so disposable and linked heavily to themes like "swag" means it will pass quickly, and allow for future embarassment. It's the goth stage of hiphop.
