I am 18, listen to Trance/Progressive/House and I have never drinken, or done any drugs in my life(nor plan to in the future). I was looking forward to goin to Buzz very soon, but unfortunately, the government decided to be homos and deal with the problem by eradicating it. That takes the fun and rights away from all the people who don't participate in the retarded actions of the few.

What should happen, is instead of just going undercover and saying "hey look, theres some problems here" and then going from that to "we're shutting you down," the government should have made buzz have stricter rules and pat downs and other security(?) measures.

Overall this whole thing is bull, and I think it also could be a way to get back at shutting down the RAVE act. ing government and public just discriminates against Electronic Music and I can't stand it.

If any type of protest or petition goes up, I'm definitely up for it. We might not be able to reverse the decision, but we could slap them in the face and make them look like asses.

Now that I am thinking about it, I really do think it could have something to do with shutting down the RAVE act =(.

look i don't like it anymore than you do. but its still a fact. clubs, raves, whatever are a breading ground for drugs. and whats the most effective way of fixing that problem, it, just shut the whole damn thing down. why the hell do politicians care? they only care about their image. and if their image is "tighten security" then those ass 60 year old retired geezers who hate young kids aren't going to vote for them. but if they shut down the place with a bang, BOOOOM, you got some votes.

fact is, they are winning the battle right now. first of all there aren't many of us in the usa to begin with. electronic music is not the most popular genre here. plus many of us can't vote yet. and out of the ones that can, who actually does? i'm sorry man, but you're gonna have to live with it. there will be other clubs, and there will be other parties. cuz no way in hell can they shut down a genre of music. and i'm sorry, but going out to see our favorite djs, is a part of the music itself. just listening to the music at home isn't enough.

i like to compare electronic music now to hip-hop back in the 80s and . everyone thought it was a phase and all this and automatically assosicated it with violence. just like electronic music is assosiated with drugs. but hell, hip-hop stayed around, and look at it now. i honestly believe the same will happen with electronic music. the ONLY problem is, if it wants to stay around, it'll have to go mainstream. life isn't perfect.

p.s. don't call the drug users "retarded." there are plenty who know exaclty what they are doing, and if you spent an evening with them, you probably wouldn't even realize they are on drugs. hate the e-tarded bastards who are just naturally dumb. if you've never done something, you have no right to talk about it. i used to be just like you and believe drugs are the worst things in the world. they are, BUT only when mixed with stupidity. analogy: why the hell would i talk to some 38 year old guy who's never even kissed a girl about relationship advice. you just wouldn't. so don't talk about things you don't know about.

i seriously can't get any work done today.
i now know how new york felt when this happened to twilo.

*on the verge of tears*

this is such a bad sign for the scene....

it bugs the out of me that to them, shutting a place like buzz down is no different than like shutting down a local convience store at the end of the street. they don't even glance back to see how many thousands and thousands of ppl these actions affect. wtf. care about ppl my ass...

we have feelings too....*sniffle*

I couldn't be more pissed off and sad about this ...

But if you'll remember, Buzz got shut down a few years ago, and it was able to rise from the ashes of that disaster and come back even better, so lets hope it can do that again.

I still can't describe how pissed I am though. I was sooooo set to see Tiesto at a club like that....now I'm just depressed...
I just, I dont even know what to say.
I never have even been to Nation on a club night, and now it looks like I never will...

This is very, very sad news indeed. Some of my favorites times and memories were had in that club. At least the in Gov can't ever take the memories away...

At least D.C. still has Glow. Hopefully, it won't suffer the same fate as Buzz...

Its just my opinion that people who have to do drugs are stupid. And dont' gimme the BS about "oh, people need ot just do it the right way" that, they just need to stop publicly doing it. Anyway, I don't want to get in a fight with you when the real problem is the shutdown of Buzz.

I mean, i'm still cool with stupid-ass people. But I don't agree with what they do =P.

Well, with the shutdown of Dorian Grey, Cream, Twilo and now Buzz, its beginning to look like not just a national problem, but an international one. Indeed, the scene is infested with drug use which leads to some deaths, but the fact of the matter is, clubs need to increase security measures and ensure that they are doing the best possible job in not allowing the "few" that ruin it for the many intelligent clubbers. This is more than a serious problem because governments across the world are trying to intercept the growth of a worldwide music culture. Its sad, but inevitable. I think fingers need to get pointed toward the corrupted club owners just as much as the clumsy drug abusers....

By that reasoning if a city has a high crime rate, the government ought to kick all the residents out of it. The fisherman will never be the boat. Solving problems by attacking them indirectly will rarely solve the problem, and frequently worsen it. If our politicians haven't learned that by now, it is a very sad commentary on the state of our society.

Move to the Bay Area. Clubs here seem to be doing fine. 1015 almost got shut down a year ago, but they just increased security and cleaned it up a little and now it is fine.

Srezic,

I also used to be just like you. But I grew up. Not all drug users are stupid just as not all people are stupid. One of these days you will find out that life isn't as simple as it seems
