Benjamin Damage - Heliosphere (killer UK techno album)

Absolutely killer album. Already set up to be one of my favorites for 2013. Such a great mix of functional techno and intelligent techno reminiscent ambient tracks. Think Red Series + The Black Dog for 2013 with a hint of bass music.

Thing about this techno artist that i don't like is all of the kicks are undefined and are strong in 50-200 spectrum. Not my taste but may be good for others who like it dirty.

You had me at The Black Dog!

That does sound really good. Will def have to check this out.

On a related note, i love these threads as its an easy way for me to keep track of new stuff coming out before the year end lists in which i then go back and listen to a bunch of stuff i didnt know even existed.

You should start a thread that we keep updating on new music, eps, albums, etc as they come out. The best of the best. Easy way for someone to post one song they really liked without starting an entire thread on it.

The new releases forum was actually decent... for new release before it got killed by retarded spam promoters. Seriously, every thread on therere gets like 30 views and they still think good promotion is spamming random forums with your .

I don't know, this forum moves pretty slow, so making new threads isn't really an issue. And people here are lazy so dunno if it'd work long term. I've made similiar threads and they've died after a while.

On topic, 010x is such a great throwback rave cut. 10/10 would PLUR.

All right, I'll bite; Gave it a listen a bit earlier today. Most of the tracks are pretty good, however as far as the album format goes - it really doesn't feel as if they fit in the grander context. As regards to The Black Dog analogy, my personal belief, is that it doesn't really do the description any justice. Their music feels melancholic, dark and absent of life(as the band name suggests) whereas this album feels way more juvenile.

my two cents. My favourite:

The Black Dog are dark? Maybe their recent albums on Soma but the classic early TBD/Plaid material he is referencing is incredibly playful for the most part.

Really into this album. I've been following him for a while. I had picked up some great stuff he did with Doc Daneeka a while back.
