This was the best PVD of recent years!

Amazing night, beyond words...Kristina Sky and Paul van Dyk killed it! KSky was still going strong at 5am when I left and the dance floor was full... :eyespop:

I've been to almost all his gigs here in L.A. since 2001. PVD killed it last night! Best set I heard from him in person since his set at Space during the Miami music conference in 2008.

I heard his set last night at Avalon wasn't recorded, but Paul was just on fire and the intensity level seemed to keep going up throughout his 3 hour set. I'm curious to know when it ended, as Kristina Sky was playing when I came in at 10pm and was still spinning when I left at 5am. :eyespop:

One of the best sets I've ever heard from Kristina too, she started out all mellow and jazzy, then took us on a euphoric journey that words can hardly describe after Paul's set to close out the night. I'd say this was like one of the three best nights I've ever seen at Avalon, with Markus Feb '12 being #1 and maybe A&B with Ferry from 2005 at #2. It was really that good! :D

His set wasnt vocals after vocals or him playing his last cd tracks?
Honestly, he has been awful over the last few years. And the best part was he kept on saying how he hated that style and would never do it.
Now he is like a 2nd dash berlin.

What did he play?

Great set by PvD. Saw him so many times last year and I was hoping for a different set and I got what I hoped for! I was getting tired of the whole opening with Time of Our Lives or playing Home 2-3 times in a night. Any vocal tracks that he did drop, he didn't play the vocals in its entirety..yay! (maybe other than I Don't Deserve You).

So glad he didn't play a dubstep-esque track either! He kept it banging through out the night. However, what's with that cymbals rift after every other freaking track?? That got annoying. LOL

I really enjoyed Kristina Sky's opening set. Didn't expect that kinda set from her at all nor expect that from her opening for Paul. Think should could totally open up for Diggers!

why does it matter if he plays a dubstep track as long as it's not garbage?

We got there at 9:30 or 10, thinking the entrance for will call was gonna be huge. Nope, just walked right in. Awesome. Hung out near the stairs, it first time seeing Kristina Sky, her start was very mellow, yet happy, groove. Then around 1030 or 11 she turned it up a notch. Just enough no to put you over the edge. Around 1215 PVD came on and blew me the away. It was like the evolution of music through his eyes. I haven't heard him play a set like this since the last time he was at 1015.
