| I'm gonna be hiring some TTs next week, so if anybody wants to come round to my place and spin some trancey tunes, you're most welcome. PM if you want to come round. I live in one of the colleges in North Adelaide, so it's pretty to get to my place. It's gonna cost me $50 to hire a DJM600 and two 1210 MK3Ds from Sunday through to Friday, so perhaps we could split the cost? |

Well I hired some speakers off this guy the other week and we got talking about myself being a DJ. So he said that I could work for him and he'd organise 21sts for me to DJ at. Anyway he told me that if I ever wanted to buy any equipment he could get them at the absolute rock bottom price in Australia (since he buys $60k of speakers a year from this store). So I asked about prices for MK3s and said he could get a fully loaded MK3 for $935 which is definitely the best price in Australia (the other places that have them cheaper don't include stuff such as the the little plastic handle for the cartridge and this one came with a $85 cartridge). So I asked him if I could borrow some gear for a week and he said normally it's $60 a night for what I'm hiring, but (depending on availability) he could hire it out me during the whole week goes not many people hire TTs during the week.
BTW we got talking about earning money from being a DJ and basically if you want to get by you need to do those crappy 21sts cause they pay good money ($400), whereas a startout DJ might only get paid $75 for an hour long warmup set. |
