Anyone knows something about this? Paul van Dyk is having his own stage at Dance Valley 2013 called "Politics of Dancing":

Sounds like he is trying to do mega parties by bringing a bunch of other djs with him. Carl Cox and Sven do this all the time. I dont think it means another mix album. They just aren't that profitable anymore.

Apparently there is a 3rd installment on the way.

I doubt many people here will share that opinion, but I kinda liked the second one back in my trance days. There was this ace Ozgur Can track on it. That guy was on a streak during that time.

Politics of Dancing 2 was one of the last trance mixcomps I remember buying... was also my first introduction to Angello/Ingrosso who had a song on it.

What has PVD been up to lately? Last I heard from him (a few years ago), he was moving fully into electro house territory, of course with everything played pitched up.

Woony - no, your right. i thought politics 2 was e.

in fact, comparing the first one, to the second, you can actually see where production values - and trance itself - took a turn for the "better" (worse)

the tunes all sound very similar, lacking almost ANY character at all. it's just mind-numbingly boring and bland.

in fact i think i remember pvd blaming the tunes, saying something like 'that's the best i could do with what i had available'.

TPOD 1 however, remains something very special. i remember the fanfare: 'it took the full weight of MOS to get paul to do his first mix album'... and it did not disappoint.

TPOD 3. you just can't but help get excited about that - if only to know, with more than a resonable amount of certainty - that it is going to suck donkey balls.

unless paul pulls some amazing project out the bag that he has been secretly working on, and revolutionises the trance scene of today... :) :(

i would take one look at politics 3, scan the tracklist - if there are any arty tunes, then i know it is gonna be lacklustre crap.

the second one had its moments but i preferred and still like the first one.

Heck eve RA gave it 5 stars!!! :stongue: RA REVIEW

In all seriousness, that finish on cd2 going from club attack, to his rework/remix of starchldren to dreamland is Unicorn glowstick heaven.

ah, man. indeed.

he teases with a few key-changes at the end of club attack, that is not on the actual single, before dropping the next track. ing bliss.
