someone told me to check out sylenth1 and alchemy but i can't see how you make songs like this. is it a lot of hardware? what should i buy? vsts? where do you get your sounds from?

well i bought fruity loops and a few plugins and played around with it for a couple of months thats about it. just trying to figure out what i have to buy to make tracks like that.

Buying stuff does not equate to learning and making stuff. Go listen to the songs that you're asking about, figure out what it is that you like or don't like about them, listen to the various sounds, the arrangement, etc., and come back with specific questions. As it stands, your question may as well be "how do I build the Golden Gate Bridge?"

@OP - all of the artists that you mentioned own a Bowen Solaris.
