All right, who do you guys reckon the next Pope will be? Do you think the Church has been shaken by so many scandals that, instead of white smoke, the only colour we'll see come out of that chimney tomorrow will be fifty shades of grey? What should the next Pope be called?

| They need to pick a non-European for the sake of the followers, Latin-American preferably. I'm hoping it will be either Mexican or Brazilian but will not mind for an African. |

Agreed.
Although, to be honest, my favourite picks are Robert Sarah (Ghana), Luis Antonio Tagle (Philippines), and Timothy Michael Dolan (USA), charisma wise. I reckon the church needs a charismatic figure, as much as it needs a competent manager. I mean, I'm not Catholic myself, but I don't think I'd ever want to meet him, as opposed to John Paul Awesome-o, who came before him and looked like a top bloke - that's the kind of "ice breaker" a missionary needs.
Of course, I wouldn't mind if they picked Scherer (from São Paulo), but I don't think he's nearly as friendly as the other guys :p |
