The Bay Area Youth Summit (BAYS) is the only completely youth-led LGBT organization in the world. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in September of 2012, BAYS seeks to empower fellow LGBT and allied youth to decide to make the difference in their communities by taking a leading role in the fight against bullying. Our Board of Directors consists completely of youth; about half are in high school, and about half are in college. We hope to represent the voice of the youth generation. BAYS currently runs three main programs among the other work we do, the leadership training Summit for LGBT and allied youth and adults to come together to learn about how to fight bullying in schools, the Middle School Safety Initiative which will facilitate high school students to give workshops to middle school students to help create safe school environments for pre-secondary schools, and the Day of Action which pairs local high school GSA’s with LGBT organizations in the area to partake in community service and learn about the LGBT community. BAYS is a candidate for Organizational Grand Marshal of the an Francisco Pride Parade in 2013, so make sure to vote for us when the ballot is released online!

PLUR Angels is a group of volunteers with one common goal: to make events safer for everyone. We have valuable experience in the EDM scene and are ready to give back to the community. There’s so much that’s learned through experience about how to be safe while having fun that people new to the scene might not know.
What does a PLUR Angel do?
Roams around the event making sure the people are safe
Observes behavior and, using experience, intuition and common sense, helps people in need
Carries a pack with water, ear plugs, basic first aid items
Communicates basic information about using a buddy system, staying hydrated, etc.
Provides information about the venue, available resources and safety
Gets medical help if necessary
PLUR Angels receive free entry to the events and VIP privileges. A PLUR Angel must remain completely clean and sober throughout the entire night. We are promoting safe raving. Together we will be able to set an example for the true meaning of PLUR. |

For those still going to this party... some important/unfortunate news:
On Monday, SF parks and rec. denied a permit we needed to use the palace of fine arts.... BUT i'm not cancelling the party. I have frantically been scrambling all week to find a large enough venue, to no avail. :( I have a backup venue.... not the best, but the party must go on... Gingerbread house. The show will be from 8pm-3am. We will be totally streamlining the entry process so that wont be an issue this time.
