Grabbed the mainstream crowd in with cheese, then by the end he had everyone going nuts to songs they had no idea what they were. Def best mainstage performance. Everyone else played the same exact , literally....overlapping tracklists galore.

he's pretty much always done this, although the cheese a few years ago wasnt as cheesey as it is today. that's all. more producers on his label producing more cheese, more cheese in his sets. even in mccarren park pool sets he'd open with progressive vocal trance stuff i.e. andy duguid wasted, and stuff from his imagine album

his formula has been exactly the same since 2007 i'd say

This track at 22 minutes is awesome. Can't wait to see him here in Philly. It has been quite a long time. :)

Blue Ranger at 24:50 :stongue:

saw him at asot 600 MIA. he did the exact same thing but hey, it worked. the last 30 minutes were UNBELIEVABLE.

first hour was okay, cool, nothing special. then he dropped morph - an angel's love at sunset and after that, he just went nuts. can't find this on youtube but:

Photographer vs. Wink – Kervansaray vs. Higher State of Consciousness (ID Mashup)

HOLY ING . i lost it. he leveled the place with that tune. and that transitioned into the massive airport/shivers mash up. boom.

i would have killed for him to play another hour at that pace. would have been a complete bloodbath.

he still whores himself? dang he loves to play his ing stuff. i can't believe people line up to listen to this douche. and c'mon he playes one nice uplifting trance and two very loud masshups. such an angry set. but then again. people just want to rage.

funny. he started off saying that his style is all about emotion trance at the very beginning of his career. aka fluffy progressive. now all this guys plays is angry music. less angry than the likes of W&W or Markus, but close enough

what exactly is angry music and why is it bad?

would the devil's techno that liebing plays be considered angry? cuz it sure as hell ain't happy.

something like this. where almost everything is made of detuned saw. so annoying to my ears. distortion. distortion everywhere. it feels like the bassline , hooks leads and pads done with the same sounds. the only thing that makes this somewhat listenable is the piano and that sweet 303 acid synth

here is an other softer mix. so how clear it is at the break down but the beggining bassline and after the build up its gets bit harsh? when the stabs and the basslines start off again. its like a white noise muddy sound. not so much angry or that its make you wonna rage but definitively it overcomes your ears. to hard on them for a simple melody that it tries to send out.\

What's the problem with playing your own productions or remixes? This isn't something new.

I guess the only difference is that I love 2007 vocal trance but not 2013 vocal trance. I like middle of the road cheese :D

nothing really, but as a dj it can get old really quick
thats why i dont see these guys as "dj's" anymore
to me they are performers. they show up with their massive production stages and play the hits for the masses
no journey or out of no where suprises
Sedna
I've seen plenty of solid DJs that can play mostly or all of their own tracks and pull it off well. AIRWAVE, ANYONE?

The problem is that the cheese DJs have very specific places in their set that they consciously assign to their newest "bangers." Like they're intentionally climaxing with their own songs in a completely premeditated fashion. That's self-indulgent douche-baggery. If you want to play your own songs, play like a DJ and use them when you feel it's the right time.

I'm not necessarily saying that Armin does this, but there are many DJs who very obviously do.
