You guys need to stop bitching about Armin's Djing, there is a reason he selects the tracks he does, it creates a special atmosphere and journey. If you play only uplifting for an hour and a half the it gets old and flat just like if you play electro house or whatever it gets boring. He creates a journey where he builds to a climax and that's why he is number one. I feel like so many of you don't get that. having said that i do wish the uplifting part of his set were longer. |
I think exactly the same, i saw him on Ultra buenos aires here and it was the best moment of my life, i mean it's like you say, he creates the atmosphere and it goes up and up and it ends really high. xd |

In my opinion, he will remain like this. Doing 1 hour cheesy stuff and 1 hour trancier stuff, like he's been doing lately.
Maybe i'm wrong. Again, im just giving my opinion xD. i'm relatevely new here but of what i've seen of you guys it's that we all like trancy stuff (tranceaddict forums, lol), but let's face it, he ain't producing trancy stuff, at least "what it feels like" isnt trance >.<. |
Hes said the "whos afraid of 138" concept and stage is an experiment both for him and Armada. If its a success at Den Bosch ie is as busy as the main arena then it stays and more uplftiing/banging artists get booked for ASOT events and Armin plays the style more than he has done. If it doesnt work the whole thing gets dropped. Thats the way I see it. |

Exactly i saw him in chicago a few years back and nothing has come close, and i have seen a ton of artists, even though i love uplifting the most by far. |

Yeah but Armin used to play progressive, uplftiing, tech and banging trance all in amuch better journey than we all get now. This big room thing has spoiled the "journey" for me. It all goes nowhere then all of a sudden like when he tried to drop in (badly) An Angels love it all changes and some folk feel like all is forgiven.
I agree with Darren that Armin Only is now the only place you will see Armin's true self. It used to be in Ibiza that you saw that too but even there hes went the same way as he is most of the year. He plays occasional big sets for festivals but the ASOT sets are usually pretty boring except for a couple of tunes like tonight, but its still pretty predictable even the good tunes he does play. |
