I've actually been planning this mix for almost 4 years now, but was never really able to make sense of any of it until I found a couple more tracks that fit. In somewhat of a sense, I'd consider this mix off-release, because it's not the stuff I usually do, but I'm making a post about it anyways because it's awesome.
This mix shouldn't be taken even remotely seriously; there is nothing you should be looking to learn in this mix beyond an adaptation and appreciation for the songs you listened to back in the day in Situation X with Dude A, Dude B and Chick C. Some of these songs are dipped in cheddar and stuffed with cheese, but if you take the tracks for what they are, you might find some interesting and fun interpretations of popular radio songs from the perspective of the best psytrance producers around.
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc (CPU Remix)
Fatboy Slim - Rockefellar Skank (SOM Remix)
Coldplay - Talk (Save The Robot's Communication Remix)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Otherside (System Nipel Remix)
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (Neuroise Remix)

I love the artwork :)
Skimmed through this, some were better than others, to say the least.
Mixing/transitioning started out pretty nice (pleasantly surprised over Feel Good Inc into Rockefellar Skank), but got gradually worse, imo.
Or it might just have been the horrible versions (excluding Money For Nothing) of 80s rock songs that made me stop paying attention.
And you've made an error in the tracklist, as Numb comes after Party Rock Anthem. :p |

Haha good call on the tracklist.
Yeah, like I said, this mix shouldn't be taken even remotely seriously. It's basically pop-full-on (at least some of it is) and not even close to the caliber of psytrance that defines my sound. But it's still somewhat fun. I'll probably still call this off-release but I'm glad I posted it.
As far as the mixing, I haven't re-listened to it, so I can't speak directly to my transitions, but I didn't detect any huge errors while playing this so if there was an error, I shall not apologize because I was drunk and this mix is pretty stupid anyways :p |
