not sure what kind of grenade that was, but if it was an actual grenade (well, explosive), all those guys would have been dead |

What basis do you have for making that statement?
From what I can see, together with what I learned in the army,
we can rule out a splint grenade, so that leaves little but a shock grenade, which depending on make, usually have an effective killing radius of about 1 to 5 meters, but usually more on the lower scale.
Sadly I never got to see what the grenades looked like after they were thrown, as the only time I got to throw live grenades was at boot camp and after tossing them we had to duck down behind cover or the sarge would do it for us aka knocking us out.
Also, haven't you seen when Mac and Charlie try to blow up sweet Dee's car? :stongue: It's a hand grenade, not a Fat Man :P |

I suppose the 'grenade' could be a popper (grenade with a live fuse, but no explosives). or a stun grenade (flashbang), but i'd expect to see a lot more ting of pants and panic than the players and the refs react. then again, apparently this was in Iran, so this may be the normal party flavours |

I'd be totally behind that statement IF this was in a battle situation.
But this is on a soccer field, and you don't expect explosives to go off right next to where you kick a field goal. You see the referrees running off pretty much instantaneously, but the rest of the guys don't know what the to do. Ie ting of pants. Panicking is from the red dressed fairies who's definitely been
And like I said, I haven't thrown that many grenades, and I have no idea what it lying so close to wall would do th eblast radius, but I have dabbled a tiny bit in pyrotechnics, and that grenade-like object is filled with at least 30 grams of explosives for a blast of that size. And that's IF the container is not cast iron steel. I'd expect it to be closer to 50 grams if it was a real grenade, which is what I'm going by, I don't know Iranian, so I have no idea what these guys are saying. |
